Girl's weekend. Seattle style.

This past weekend, Tiffany and I drove up to Seattle to visit Molly for a much needed girls weekend. We explored the city, ate, shopped, drank, and ate some more. It was so nice to catch up with my two best friends. Love these ladies! And now, our weekend in pictures:

Tiff and I stumbled upon the gum wall!
I've always wondered where it was.

couples retreat.

This past weekend Stephen and I headed up to his parents' cabin in Lyle Washington. On the drive up we stopped at this tiny burger joint for the best soft serve cones known to man. We missed the exit and had to drive an extra five miles or so to get there, but two words: worth it.

On Saturday we woke up and went walking around the Gorge for a bit. Then Tiffany and Jason joined us for the night. We BBQ'd (well the men did, we just sat there), made cosmos & margaritas and played an honest game of battle of the sexes. It was great to spend a quality evening with my favorite Peterson couple.

Sunday consisted of cooking up delicious cinnamon pecan waffles and exploring Hood River. Stephen and I ate at Full Sail Brewing Co. and I am still drooling over the turkey, brie, & apple sandwich I ate.

I am seriously considering driving east one weekend for that alone...

to 6 wonderful years.

Stephen and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary over the weekend staying at his parent's cabin in Lyle, Washington.
We hiked, visited Hood River, went to the Maryhill Museum, saw the   (random) Stonehenge Memorial, and finished off with making s'mores!

It was a perfect weekend.
I love you more than words could express.

the decision has been made!

We're taking a road trip to San Francisco for 5 days in August!
I am beyond thrilled to visit this city and have already starting marking out fun attractions to see. On the list so far:
Golden Gate Bridge
Alcatraz Island
Fisherman's Wharf/Pier 39
Six Flags
Yosemite National Forest

And on our way down we're going to stop through the Redwood Forest! This excites me greatly as I've always wanted to visit them!

August can't come soon enough.

the decision has been made: it's road trip time!

San Francisco or..

Yellowstone National Park!

Both are about a 10-12 hour drive (yikes!) and each offer such a different experience.
But with five days off in August, how could we pass up a road trip!
I'm leaning toward San Francisco..did I mention there is a Six Flags not far from there either! AND Yosemite National Park is a mere 3 hour drive away. So really, we can get the best of both worlds.
Oh I am excited!!

pittock mansion.

Well this place put Flavel's house to shame.
I'm a sucker for a pretty mansion and boy was this a beautiful home.
By far the best views of all of Portland too.
Next time we shall picnic in the grass area.

lincoln city/tillamook cheese factory.

After Astoria, we headed back to our beloved Lincoln City for the night.
Our first stop the next day was Mo's.
It was delicious.
No trip to the beach is complete without stopping at one of the many viewpoints they have along the Pacific Coast Highway.
Here we are at Boiler Bay. Such gorgeous views of the oceans.

Our final stop of our trip was to the Tillamook Cheese Factory.
Look at all that cheese! Yum!
Although, Stephen and I tend to differ on our views of cheese.
But they offered a viewing gallery to see firsthand the assembly line of cheese they manufacture. And then the downstairs offered all flavors of Tillamook ice cream to sample and buy.

Ice cream was the perfect end to our perfect weekend!
